Another Good Reason to Ditch the Sugar!

Sugar Shown to be Detrimental for Brain Health

A recent Study about sugar reveals harmful effects that just can't be sugar coated!

What if you knew that your sugar consumption, while it may please your palette for the moment, is contributing to an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease and dementia?

For years, doctors have seen the link between diabetes and Alzheimer's disease.  Yet, now, according to this recent study, high blood glucose levels in any individual can carry with it the same risk.

The study was of patients at a large health care system in Washington state.  The researchers tracked the blood glucose levels of 2,067 patients for seven years, none who had dementia at the beginning of the study.

The results showed that higher blood glucose levels are associated with greater risk of dementia, even among people who don't have diabetes.  The results of the study were published in The New England Journal of Medicine, where Dr. Paul Crane, the lead author and professor of medicine at the University of Washington was quoted.  Dr. Crane said the study: "may have influence on the way we think about blood sugar and the brain."

It was found that, over the course of the study, about a quarter of the participants developed dementia of one kind, primarily Alzheimer's disease or vascular dementia.

"We found a Steadily increasing risk associated with ever-higher blood glucose levels, even in people who didn't have diabetes."  Dr. Crane said, and added that this was a consistent finding.

He said, "The association with dementia kept climbing with higher blood sugar levels and, at the other end of the spectrum, continued to decrease with lower levels."

While there is more to learn about the "why" there is ENOUGH evidence from this study and others to show that lowering blood sugar levels may be important to health.

As Dr. Medha Munshi, a geriatrician and endocrinologist who directs the geriatric diabetes program at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, said the research "offers more evidence that the brain is a target organ for damage by high blood sugar"

These are all reasons that Awareness Life Products contain little to no sugar!

Prayer

Matthew 21:22

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Romans 12:12

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

James 5:5

And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven

Mathew 7:7

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

ASK

SEEK

KNOCK

Look at the first letter of each word , what does it spell?? ASK!  Keep asking and believe that Jesus took our sins, sickness, and inequities & only he can heal!

(Joseph Prince The Power of Prayer #334, look for it on pod-cast)

The truth is God knows your needs before you ask, but he does instruct us to ask & to believe and then it will be done in Jesus Name. You prayers just need to be from your heart, keep them simple.  don't let your mind wonder on what scripture to say, God knows what he has already written.  Give thanks to God for what you have, then present your requests.   Be Faithful in your prayer, Be Relentless, Go after God’s heart!

Discipline

The Need for Self-Discipline

         1 Corinthians 9:24

24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize

      Hebrews 12:11

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

We have all been there before, the point in life where we know we need change.  We say to our selves, tomorrow I will eat better but today that cookie looks too good!  Or we convince ourselves we don’t have self-control, we just can’t help it.  We even go as far to blame our family lineage citing obesity.

The truth is we all have self-control in us.  We just need to activate it, to set our minds that change is needed & there is no room for failure when it comes to our health.  The instant gratification we get when we “treat our selves” to a sweet is not worth the derailment it causes.  Let’s face it America is in trouble in many areas besides our health for lack of self-control.

-- During the six weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year's, adults gained about 0.8 pounds, according to a 2000 study published in Nutrition Review.  What the same study found was that, 14% of overweight and obese individuals gained more than five pounds during the holiday.

It really comes down to what people do day in & day out.  We must have self-discipline and set our minds to run the race to get the prize, our health!   Truth is you are able to exercising   self-control; you need to remind yourself daily that you are able.  Take a few minutes to write a few bible verses that deal with discipline, I like to use Bible Gateway look up when making my list.  Then read these daily out loud so that God’s word which is truth will impact your daily life.

When you are facing a huge task or change in your life do you wonder if you can do it?

Ezra 10:4

New International Version (NIV)

4 Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it.”

When people come to the realization that they need to lose weight, they often don’t know where to begin or how to start.  The task can seem impossible.

God calls us to “Rise up” & take courage and do it.  There are many more scriptures that tell us to speak to our mountains in faith & they will be moved.  Another one that comes to mind is that we are MORE than conquerors in Christ; we can do all things in Christ.  God does not say sit back take it easy & think about what you must do, he said DO IT!  When we take our time to think about our situation what we are really doing is giving the enemy a foothold to work on us.  He feeds us the lies of, it’s too hard, I can never get in shape or I never can be the athlete I once was.  Stop listening to those lies!  If I at almost 48 (in a few weeks) can get my health back on track, lose 16 pounds then anyone can.  We all have self-control in us (the fruit of the spirit) but by Faith must activate it.

Pure Trim products have made my wellness journey easy to follow.  I feel better than I have in years.  I love these products so much that I became a Distributer saving me money on my monthly supplies.  Don’t wait to make a change.  Email me for more information.  I won’t just sell you product I will coach you through your journey every step of the way, even if you live in Alaska!
